We are hiring an experienced program manager to join the Startup Partners Center of Excellence team in the AWS Partner Network (APN). This role will look after a strategic initiative to establish to manage and execute program initiatives that support VC-backed startup partners to reach more customers with their software products.

Would you like to run projects with global impact and that help startup partners to go to market with AWS? As Strategic Initiatives Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage a high impact projects that establish long term partnerships with startups to grow revenue for their business and for AWS. The Initiatives Manager will run global operations for a multi-year project, establishing best practices for delivery of partner agreements, tracking progress toward goals, communicating health of the project to senior leadership, and analyzing data to drive continuous improvement in our operations. You will lead global operations across internal teams, serving as point of contact to triage issues and to ensure a high quality experience for our startup partners.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing complex projects across multiple stakeholder groups, proactively identifying and addressing issues, and empowering our field teams to create efficiency in their efforts with partners. You will will have a superior attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and ideally experience with data analysis to influence our efforts in the long term. The candidate should have a passion for emerging technologies and the ambition to shape the future to benefit partners. They have familiarity with the startup business model and experience with go-to-market partnerships. Above all, the candidate should have an entrepreneurial ("go getter") mindset to deliver results.

Key job responsibilities

• Work with multiple sales, partner, operations, finance, and legal teams to define and execute strategic initiatives in the startup partners business

• Design, track, and report on business metrics to measure impact, effectiveness, appropriateness, and adoption to be reported to leadership

• Build and maintain successful partnerships with global teams, segment stakeholders and key business sponsors

• Serve as primary point of contact for the initiative, triaging issues and supporting field teams to address blockers to delivery on the initiative

• Report on global operations for strategic initiatives, drafting business memos and recurring review documents to communicate health of the initiative

• Engage AWS field partner teams to ensure high quality in our pipeline, and to establish best practices in qualfiying and securing new partner agreements

• Work with operations and business intelligence teams to establish reporting mechanisms that enable global teams to manage efforts

• Identify opportunities to improve established processes and internal tools

• Gathering feedback from stakeholders to mabnage operations and outcomes from the initiative

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years working with or for startup tech companies or VC investors

  • 3+ years in cloud, Software as a Service (SaaS), or similar companies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
