We are seeking an offshore wind port planner/engineer to support our OSW ports practice. As the successful new hire, you may be seated in our Oakland (1st preference) or Costa Mesa (2nd preference), CA. Alternative acceptable locations for this position are: Walnut Creek or Long Beach, CA or Seattle, WA. Perform site selection studies and feasibility studies for proposed OSW ports Analyze existing port infrastructure and proposed sites to determine suitability for use in OSW industry Work with OSW port logistics modeling team to create and analyze OSW port models Work with OSW ports team to analyze OSW project operational requirements and create supporting port layouts and concept designs Keep current with OSW industry trends, US and international work pipeline Coordinate with structural, civil, electrical and mechanical design teams as required Perform periodic site visits and field investigations at proposed and existing OSW port locations Attend client meetings as required Produce and present effective presentations and reports for OSW port clients Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. A master's degree in engineering with focus in: Civil, Structural, Coastal, Marine or Offshore Wind is preferred 1 to 3 years of experience Engineer in Training certificate or the willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire Good working knowledge of the OSW industry is a plus. Experience may include: BOEM (US) leasing process US State OSW power solicitation process European OSW leasing and solicitation process South American OSW leasing and solicitation process OSW wind turbine generation sizing and geometry Process flow of WTG components through OSW port OSW vessel characteristics and specifications OSW port criteria to support both fixed bottom and floating offshore wind projects Strong communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations and work with a team approach Ability and willingness to interact
