Prime Air is seeking an experienced Systems Development Engineer to help us optimize and grow our infrastructure. The Business Operations, Systems, and Support team within Prime Air is responsible for the tools that the organization uses to achieve our goals. Our solutions include PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), collaboration platforms, vehicle maintenance, and the data infrastructure for the Prime Air organization. We’re a diverse group that combines product managers, software developers, and engineers to deliver across a wide range of technical challenges. Our services operate at scale and support workloads critical to safety, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

• Build and implement automations and tools to streamline processes and enhance system efficiency

• Deliver right-sized solutions to complex problems

• Engage directly with customers to define problems and evaluate potential solutions

• Conduct technical assessments, build consensus within the team, and ensure alignment with organizational goals

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure in AWS

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) using AWS services

• Experience developing infrastructure-as-code with frameworks, such as AWS CDK or TerraForm

• Advanced knowledge of configuration management systems, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
