STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE Admissions Advisor in SEDALIA, Missouri

Position Purpose:The Admissions Advisor is responsible for independently increasing the image and visibility of the College in the community, creating and administering programs and activities that promote enrollment, and educating high school, HSE, and transfer students of their educational opportunities at the College. The qualified person will serve in the form of a recruiter and perform associated duties in a timely manner. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Success and other members of the College leadership team, this person will help establish and share accountability for enrollment goals for all programs and sites.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Make individual contacts with targeted populations of students and administrators.
  • Create an annual recruitment plan and visit schedule for the Colleges 14 county service area to actively recruit both traditional and non-traditional students to SFCC through regular visits to high schools, career centers, community organizations and employers, and college fairs. Regular travel and possible overnight stays can be expected.
  • Manage the College Connections program at selected technical schools making regular visits to assist with college planning, dual credit enrollment, financial aid information, and career exploration.
  • Maintain accurate records of student contacts and participate in activities, including data management of prospective students and follow-up measures for applicants, to reach desired enrollment goals.
  • Work with our Learning Force team and local workforce development board to provide services to our area business partners and participate in career fairs.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with on-campus recruitment; specifically, but not limited to, facilitating the College Visit Days as well as assisting in the planning of annual college and career day activities.
  • Provide campus tours for guests who visit campus and participate in new student events on campus.
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of information promoting the College enrollment and the dual credit program to high school students, parents, counselors and administrators, and other appropriate off-campus forums as assigned.
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff to prepare presentations for on-campus visitors.
  • Promote career and technical dual credit and articulation agreements with our service area technical schools.
  • Contribute to the creation of the Communication Plan that seeks to actively prospective students to enrolled students through the admissions funnel.
  • With the assistance of the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Success, create a marketing plan and purchase necessary recruitment materials in accordance to the budget.
  • Provide leadership for support staff and work with others cooperatively.
  • Administer other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Success.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

``` - At least one year of admissions counseling and outreach experience, or equivalent experience required.

Skills:

  • Special event coordination and off campus recruitment fairs.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.

``` - Ability to manage multiple priorities, understand and attend to details, meet established deadlines, and provide excellent customer service to the college community. - Able to mainta n strong internal control environment including supporting documentation and authorizations. - Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform at high levels. - A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively. - Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to remote locations and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.
  • Some evening and weekend hours required, especially during the travel season.
