Intro
The Equipment and Tooling Shop sets the bar for innovation in Vitesco Technologies by designing, building, deploying, and supporting in-house automated manufacturing cells. These cells are used for state of the art automotive electronics manufacturing – including the latest in pick and place robotics, inventive conveyance systems, and established industry process equipment such as dispensers, laser markers, screw drivers, and plasma surface treatment. The controls engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining PLC/HMI based automation control systems to make our production lines smarter, faster, and more automated.
Job Description:
Create and maintain PLC/HMI programs for automation cells
Design and implement safety devices within cells
Create panel designs, layouts, bill of materials, and electrical schematics
Supports manufacturing operations in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure all designs conform to all necessary regulatory requirements
Maintain 5S Best in Class organization and cleanliness standards in work area
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronics)
Basic knowledge of PLC control systems and concepts
Basic knowledge of software development
Able to comfortably work in a team environment managing multiple priorities
Able to interpret and create electrical schematics
Clear written and verbal English communication skills
Passionate to pursue emerging technologies in automation
Preferred Requirements:
3 years experience designing and maintaining PLC and HMI programming of Allen Bradley or Unitronics devices
Experience programming and implementing industrial safety devices
Working knowledge of regulatory codes and standards such as GMP, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA
Experience in automation design and manufacturing
