Position Summary:

Under the direction of the QHSE Manager, Quality | Safety Specialist provides dynamic support to administration and manufacturing management and processes. Strives to deliver programs that enable employees to do their job right the first time and every time within a safe work environment.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Ensures ISO 9001 Quality Management System conformance.

  • Active participant of Safety Committee Team and Emergency Response Team.

  • Evaluates, modifies, develops and implements procedures, instructions and forms.

  • Supervises Key Performance Indicators and Department Performance Metrics.

  • Monitors Customer Complaints, Product Returns and Warrantee Data.

  • Analyzes Quality and Safety trends, initiates problem solving and root cause analysis.

  • Performs Quality Audits and Safety Inspections and maintains documentation.

  • Manages Quality Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Reporting.

  • Manages Safety Near Miss and Injury Reporting.

  • Leads Quality and Safety Improvement Projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Problem Solving, Strong Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills.

  • Technical Writing – Development of Procedures, Instructions and Forms.

  • Excellent Computer Software Skills, Office 365 products – Excel, Word, Power Point and Teams.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related Technical Field.

  • 2-year related experience with manufacturing operations.

  • ISO 9001 QMS Auditor (preferred – not required).

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment. Frequent sitting or standing for extended period.

  • Occasional to frequent walking in and around manufacturing plant.

  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing / eye protection, gloves, and safety shoes.

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.
