COFMC Medical Assistant in Seminole, Oklahoma
POSITION TITLE: Medical Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Nursing
NATURE OF POSITION: The Medical Assistant is a member of the interdisciplinary medical team of Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center. The position assists medical providers in the examination and treatment of patients and functions as a liaison between the medical staff, health information, lab, and administrative departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous clinical experience preferred
Strong written and communication skills
Strong working knowledge in computer systems; such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and/or lift for extended periods of time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine intake procedures including, but not limited to, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and blood pressure readings
Assists medical providers with examination and treatment of patients
Provides assistance with administrative procedures required, including patient referral, charting and documentation of activities and phone calls
Demonstrates teamwork and commitment to quality patient care
Attends clinic mandated and departmental in-services and trainings
Performs other duties as assigned
