Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Seneca, PA

The unit includes 9-beds with a physiatrist who oversees that patient's therapy progression. UPMC provides the opportunities for patients to regain their independence and prior level of functionality through intense physical, occupational and speech therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Enthusiastically precepts students, graduate nurses, and new hires.

  • Identifies learning opportunities to improve patient care.

  • Seeks feedback and applies continuous professional improvement.

  • Supports continuous learning through research and presentations.

  • Uses Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.

  • Develops patient-centered goals and plans of care.

  • Communicates patient conditions effectively to other care providers.

  • Provides comprehensive patient documentation.

  • Incorporates professional and organizational goals to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

  • Builds compassionate relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Identifies and implements opportunities for quality and workplace improvement.

  • Applies evidence-based practice regularly.

  • Performs system-wide competencies and other assigned duties.

Minimum 1 acute care year experience required.

BSN preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
