JOB REQUIREMENTS: Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, controlling inventory, warehousing, or receiving. Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality. Implement new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency or performance. Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance. Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products. Monitor suppliers\' activities to assess performance in meeting quality or delivery requirements. Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success. Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies. Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes. Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes and predict effects on supply chain activities. Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow. Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products. Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws. Design or implement supply chains that support environmental policies. Forecast material costs or develop standard cost lists. Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Prepare detail project plans, including statements of technical objectives and approaches, task breakdowns, schedules, project cost estimates and product cost analyses, submit for approval. Direct and coordinate all work on assigned projects by engineers, support personnel and outside groups involving design, development, drafting, sample construction and delivery, test and evaluation, and release for production. Personally carry out in-depth design and development engineering work of advanced or pioneering nature involving complex analytic and/or experimental techniques at a professional engineering level. Work with the Kohler IT team and consultants to develop new SAP WM or EWM functionality or diagnose SAP related issues and work to implement improvements. Lead testing for all SAP and related physical process enhancements. Function as the first line of support for solving waves creation failure, Planned Shipping Handling Unit failure, missing warehouse tasks, warehouse order issues with SAP. Counsel and train less senior engineers and technical support personnel in technical areas as required or requested. This may include functioning as a direct manager for personnel. Maintain project records; prepare technical, cost and other reports as requested to show progress and results achieved. Contribute sound professional advice and creative new ideas, concepts and approaches relative to new design and development projects.
