POSITION SUMMARY
Support all manufacturing engineering activities within assigned cells, including electrical system integration and system troubleshooting, implementing and facilitating lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing engineering change orders, assigning inventory locations, conducting contract reviews, creating shop floor instructions, evaluating standards and completing capital and facility upgrades.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Work effectively as a cell team member to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support and services within assigned manufacturing cell(s)
  • Represent manufacturing engineering within assigned cells at the daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings
  • Maintain current updates on manufacturing engineering related tasks on the manufacturing cell log.
  • Design or specify any equipment/tooling/racking required to support manufacturing.
  • Review relevant engineering change orders (ECOs) within assigned cells or assigned option groups and support all aspects of production implementation.
  • Review relevant engineering change notifications (ECNs) within assigned cells at the daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings
  • Implement and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.)
  • Lead or participate in SWAT team meetings, ensuring that necessary action is taken between cross-functional groups to resolve issues
  • Specify and facilitate capital and equipment upgrades, installations or modifications.
  • Support process planning and production engineering.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Engineer - Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical engineering degree
  • Technician - related courses and work experience
  • All - lean certification or applicable equivalent work experience
  • Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience working as an effective team player
  • Superior computer and organizational skills
  • Goal orientated and motivation to achieve tasks within set timelines
  • Auto CAD or UniGraphics, Microsoft Office, PLC's (ladder logic)
  • Electrical knowledge
