DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will oversee various maintenance activities, which encompass the organization of materials, management of traffic control, ensuring the availability of equipment, and supervising personnel. It will be essential for you to assess the competencies of your subordinate team members and provide suggestions for necessary training and avenues for enhancing overall performance.

You will be in charge of directing a general highway maintenance team engaged in manual labor and the operation of heavy machinery to execute standard maintenance and repair tasks on or near designated highways, including snow removal operations. This responsibility entails comprehensive year-round planning, execution, and completion of all stages of projects or assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

     REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1; or

  • Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
