Champlain Orchards, Inc.is seeking seven (7) Packing Line Staffto work on its property at2955 VT Route 74W in Shoreham, Vermont 05770. The position will be full-time and seasonal during the dates ofOctober 1, 2024 April 30, 2025.

The Main Job Task and Responsibilities, ensuring that all federal, state and company regulations and standards for product freshness and quality, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met. Ensure accurate sizing and quality for packaging of fresh apples and other fruit occurs. Employee will visually inspect each apple or other fruit for quality so it can either be packed, directed to cider or discarded. Employee will be responsible to maintain high quality standard for cleanliness of packing and associated areas. Also inspect packaged produce for conformance to customers\' specifications and quality. Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency of packing line. Get supplies (boxes, label, packing materials, etc.) throughout the day. Clean each station and packing area at the end of each day and completing all required Food safety records as required. The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds, carry a 20 pounds ladder. Weekends and nights are required.

Employees will work Mon-Sun an average of 40 hrs./wk. Must be able to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8 am to 10 pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary, weekends a must.

On-the-job training is provided.Champlain Orchards, Inc.provides workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. No experience is required.

The Wage is\$15.51an hour. Overtime is not available. All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law.No other deductions will be taken unless voluntarily agreed upon. Wages will be paid weekly on Tuesday, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The employer does not provide daily transportation.

This posting is being made in connection with an application for H-2B workers.

The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of \$15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of \$59.00 per day with receipts.

Housing is provided at no cost and all expenses including garbage and water are included. This housing is optional and is not a condition of employment. The housing is within walking distance of the worksites. Alternatively, the employer will assist workers in finding suitable housing within walking distance.
