Senior Mechanical Engineer at TSI The Senior Mechanical Engineer demonstrates a thorough understanding of a focused and highly disciplined approach to engineering project work and independently solves complex problems associated with the design, development, and manufacturing of products. This individual will assume leadership of Mechanical Engineering activities on projects and mentor Engineers at level I and II. This individual must also effectively communicate in cross functional teams that span all Engineering disciplines, Marketing, Sales, and Production. What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for: * Design, modification, experimentation, testing, and analysis required to support fielded instruments * For New Product Development, support mechanical and measurement verification/validation activities, as needed * Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness * Estimate task duration and resource requirements for activities * Apply problem solving skills to analysis of new and unfamiliar engineering problems * Support design changes by reviewing proposed changes, engineering drawings, documentation, and change control * Prioritize work with input from engineering, product management, and other stakeholders as applicable * Provide strong documentation and specifications on project work * Manage own work flow and develop a deeper understanding of product lines * Work cooperatively with Mechanical Engineering staff and other departments to develop best practices * Conduct reviews for design changes with peers and stakeholders and participate in design reviews for applicable new product development projects through critical and constructive feedback What Do You Need? Required * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field * 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience (3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience, if a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is held) * General Engineering Experience * Mechanical engineering fundamentals * Engineering tools and software * Experimental methods * Testing Experience & Execution * Test planning experience * Data analysis and reporting Design Experience * Experience designing plastic molded parts, sheet metal, and/or machined parts * Time management and proven learning track record * Strong communication skills * Knowledge of: * Mechanical Engineering fundamentals * Engineering tools and software, including 3D CAD modelingand Microsoft Office Applications, including Word and Excel Desired * Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. * Experience developing and supporting production processes * Experience in fluid flow applications * Advanced Testing * Experience in writing code to automate testing procedures * Experience in testing products for regulated industries * Modeling the physics of product behavior using engineering tools * Analysis of production processes using statistical tools * Knowledge of the following: * GD&T * Mil-Spec, ANSI, ASTM, and other engineering standards * Risk identification and management * Lean Product development methodologies * Standardized Engineering methods, including FMEA, DOE, sensitivity analysis, and formal problem-solving techniques * Pro/E Creo Experience * Databases and SQL * Minitab What Can We Give You?
