Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

Description

Shrewsbury based non-profit is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial close process, supervising staff, and assisting with the preparation of the annual budget and audit schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the monthly financial close process, including the preparation of third-party contract and childcare parent billing.

• Supervise the Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerk, ensuring efficient daily operations.

• Prepare and record monthly closing entries and import payroll entries to the general ledger.

• Review scholarship applications from the wellness and health equity department and Transitional Housing Program.

• Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and the annual independent audit.

• Manage the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts.

• Handle the supervision of weekly accounts payable check runs and monthly bank account reconciliation.

• Research and resolve all inquiries regarding general ledger transactions.

• Prepare and analyze monthly revenue and expense financial statements and reports.

• Oversee the distribution of monthly financial reports to department directors.

• Provide backup support for front desk as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in Auditing practices

• Familiarity with Billing Functions

• Experience in Budgeting

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis

• Proficiency in Forecasting

• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks

• Experience in preparing Monthly Statements

• Knowledge of US GAAP standards
