Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Sidney, Ohio

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months)

Shift: First Shift (M-TH) with Overtime on Fridays and Saturdays

Pay: 20/HR

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to provide quality control and technical support for this. This role plays a crucial part in the continuous development of our Quality Assurance systems in both manufacturing and packaging areas.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct accurate and timely testing of raw materials, bulk formulations, and finished goods per established procedures and FDA/GLP standards.

• Inspect and control incoming raw materials and components, as well as finished products.

• Verify end-of-shift and end-of-run reconciliation on production lines.

• Assemble and verify all batch records.

• Support the implementation of the Quality System to ensure compliance with FDA regulations.

• Coordinate with production teams to document and report nonconformities.

• Perform routine verification of instrument calibration and preventive maintenance on lab equipment.

• Assist in training line personnel and staff as needed.

• Conduct routine environmental microbiological testing.

• Ensure laboratory supplies and chemicals are adequately stocked.

• Prepare and document standards, standard solutions, and reagents.

• Champion quality initiatives both in the lab and on the production floor.

• Maintain an efficient laboratory environment that processes samples accurately.

• Promote a supportive team atmosphere focused on quality matters.

• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations regarding inspection and testing.

• Interpret and report analytical data.

• Participate in product release/rejection processes with approval from the QC Supervisor/QA Specialist.

Work Environment:

• QC manufacturing lab adhering to GMP/GLP regulations.

• The role involves a split schedule between two technicians, with weekend work anticipated initially, tapering off in the new year.

Qualifications:

Must Haves:

-Must have a BS in Chemistry or a similiar lab sciences, Would also be open to an A.S with a couple of years of lab experience

-Good computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access) and flowcharting.

-Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in team environment.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in QC lab environment

• Ideally someone who has worked Pharma or cosmetic lab - GMP/GLP Environment

• Skilled in the operation and maintenance of various analytical instrumentation including GC, HPLC, FTIR.
