Xylem Senior Field Service Technician in Signal Hill, California

Position Summary:

Xylem is looking for a Senior Field Service Technician to report to our Signal Hill, CA facility and service our customers in the surrounding areas.

What your day will look like as a Field Service Technician:

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of our water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle, within our Light Industries Division. Equipment specific training will be provided. Willing to train the right person, but previous technical/mechanical/plumbing experience is especially encouraged.

This position has general day shift hours with overtime opportunities and a compensated on-call rotation with occasional afternoons/weekends.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Creates and maintains safe working environment and cultures within the organization

  • Takes care of company property

  • Proactively trouble shoots systems for mechanical, electrical equipment conditions

  • Anticipates and corrects safety issues – both company and customer owned equipment

  • Direct interfacing with customer

  • May be responsible for work in multiple systems, locations or customers

  • Provides coaching or training to entry-level technicians

Position Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Industry specific licenses preferred

  • Ability to coach and train entry-level technicians

  • 2-5 years technical experience including industrial or commercial process water experience

  • Experience with Microsoft office including smart devices

  • Must have customer service experience

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and trouble shooting ability

  • Able to pass background check & pre-employment drug screen

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.

  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.

  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.

  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.

  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.

  • Work surfaces may include concrete.

  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.

Salary range:

$51,500.00 - $82,500.00
