The Parker Meggitt Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing, ending with delivery to customers.
Parker Meggitt – Simi Valley, CA, is also a key supplier in selecting energy markets, including nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with the largest global aerospace companies, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and many others.
JOB DESIGNATION
Under direct supervision, the Production Machine Operator I performs straightforward tasks and operates routine production equipment and machinery. Ensures the maintenance of a safe work environment with an ultimate goal of zero accidents. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient production environment. JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs straightforward set up, operation and routine maintenance of production machinery and test equipment
Uses a range of documents to perform work, such as job travelers, blueprints, schematics, models or specifications
Troubleshoots machines that are not at peak performance and finds solutions to problems
Ensures adequate stock of raw materials needed for work and performs equipment maintenance per schedules
Evaluates and verifies that production items are within tolerances and meet specifications as outlined in job documentation
Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, to ensure the quality of products.
Collaborate with production team members to achieve production targets and meet quality standards
Other responsibilities as assigned
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
Experience operating machinery, preferably in a factory setting.
Knowledge of tooling and the ability to work with a variety of materials.
Experience with lathes, milling machines, and stamping presses.
Proficiency in the use of hand tools and ability to perform maintenance tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
Basic math proficiency
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
Excellent attention to detail
Able to use existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
Effective oral and written communication
WORK AUTHORIZATION: This position is subject to meeting US export compliance and/or US Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements . This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent residency is required for most positions.
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, and location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $20/hr - $22/hr plus shift premium.
