Summary This National Guard position is for an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number NGD2240P01 and is part of 114 AMX SQ. This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service position. NOTE: This announcement is for 3 positions. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: - Members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to join. Responsibilities As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-12/13, you will: This position works within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop, Communications/Navigation/ECM, or Guidance and Control shop. It is an Air National dual status technician position that requires military membership, compatible military skill assignment and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the WG-2610-12: This position is an apprentice or journeyman skill level designed as a developmental opportunity to qualify for merit promotion to the dual status technician PD# D2240P01, Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, craftsman expertise. Must have at least a three-skill level in one of the compatible AFSCs, with 12 months of work experiences. NOTE: To credit work experiences gained from completing the compatible AFSC technical training school program, the applicant must submit technical school certificate(s) and student evaluation(s) to support/verify AFSC work experiences and skills performed while attending the applicable Air Force technical school(s). For the WG-2610-13: The applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences included the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Experienced in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Experiences included completing operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of line-replaceable-units which are linked with integrated systems and line-replaceable-units which are independent or associated with non-integrated systems. Must have skilled capabilities of isolating unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and flight line test systems. Skilled in solving complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems. Experiences involved adjusting and aligning system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Skilled in the installation of serviceable components into aircraft and performed total systems alignment and harmonization in accordance with existing technical orders and directives. Experienced and skilled in completing technical order compliances, completing component and system modifications, and performing thorough system checks for correct operations. Skilled in maintaining, modifying, calibrating, and inspecting a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. Experienced in performing installations, modifications, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, aligning, and calibrating complete electronic avionics multi-system controls. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of complex aircraft avionics or electronic circuit maintenance systems. Skill to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft. Skill in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Skill in completing technical order compliances, completing component and system modifications, and performing thorough system checks for correct operations. The following are the cut-off dates 9 October 2024 1 November 2024 2 December 2024 2 January 2025 Education For the WG-13 ANG Dual Status Technician position, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of an Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and successful On-the-Job training that will result or resulted in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC. STATEMENT OF DIFFERENCE: An applicant who meets the experience and educational requirements for entry at WG-12 level for an electronic integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-12, position description (PD) D2325000, will have an individual development plan (IDP) established for them. This plan will be designed to provide the individual selected with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and hone their skills relating to the electronic integrated system trades which they will be performing for promotion to the full operating level of the electronic integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-13, PD D2240P01. The incumbent was competitively selected to fill the position at this lower grade level. Promotion to the target grade position may be considered as a career promotion in accordance with applicable regulations, after qualifications, eligibility requirements, and completion of a locally developed IDP. The Supervisor and the next higher level supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the incumbent is performing the full scope of duties and has the skill requirements associated with the electronics integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-13, PD D2240P01, prior to allowing the individual to be promoted.
