Job Summary

Manages the daily and future scheduling of surgical/GI procedures across the Avera McKennan perioperative division. The Surgical Operations Manager is responsible for the evaluation and coordination of all surgical procedures related to the operating room(s) and ensures appropriate placement according to specialty and surgical campus for inpatient and outpatient procedures. Manages and coordinates with all surgical/GI/clinic(s) scheduling personnel across the Avera McKennan perioperative division.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in nursing required.

• Working knowledge of OR Operations.

• Experience with computerized scheduling.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in outpatient and/or inpatient surgical setting.

• Previous leadership experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.

• Membership in a professional organization preferred.

• Certified in specialty area of nursing practice required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule

• Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
