Job Summary

Nursing Service at Avera McKennan requires all nurses and student nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in his/her role. The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice are exemplified within the Position Description. The NCI student, under the direction of a Registered Nurse mentor, is responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process to provide nursing care for the patient. The NCI studetn assumes responsibility and accountability for individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered. Will perform the essential functions listed below in collaboration with and under the direction of a nurse mentor.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• Currently enrolled and have completed all but the final one or two semesters of a CCNE or NLN accredited Registered Nurse program by the time internship starts is required.

Work Schedule

• Varied 8 or 12 hour shifts.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
