Avera is seeking a Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist!!

    Job Summary

  • The Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist oversees the development and operations of Avera Orthotics and is responsible for the clinical performance, financial performance, set up, development, quality assurance, business development, sales, customer service and strategic growth.

  • The Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist is responsible for professional orthotics for ambulatory patients at Avera. They will be responsible for evaluation of patients for appropriate orthotic treatment. In consultation with clinical staff, therapists, referring physicians and determines an optimal treatment plan and selects appropriate orthoses. The Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist is responsible for oversight of the design, fabrication fitting and modification of orthoses. The Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist in this position functions independently in nearly all patient care situations. This position requires verbal and written communication with families, nurses, therapists, and physicians.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s degree of Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO) and/ or 10+ years of experience.

  • 1 year of fellowship required.

  • 5+ years of development in O&P required

    CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS

  • Certification required by American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics (ABC) or Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC).

    Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • 80 hours per 2 weeks
