We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Systems Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic direction, leadership, planning, sales and profitability, market share and customer satisfaction of the Power Systems Division. We have a generous retirement plan with 10% guaranteed and up to 5% discretionary provided by the company annually once eligibility is met with no minimum required contributions out of your pocket. You travel to Butler locations via the company private airplane for such things as training, meetings and customer events. This position is also eligible for our Bonus Incentive Plan.

This position can be based out of Fargo, ND, Bismarck, ND or Sioux Falls, SD

Responsibilities:

• Leads and supports the development and execution of Butler Machinery’s electric power generation strategy by exemplifying the Mission and Values of Butler Machinery.

• Leads a team of dedicated sales professionals in designated territories.

• Leads a collaborative effort of partnership between aftermarket sales, operations, and Power Systems Division to ensure customers’ success across the lifespan of power systems solution.

• Reviews contracts, prior to signature authorization, to determine obligations and limitations for risk to/for BMC, and to ensure the language is consistent with BMC proposals.

• Leads cross organizational efforts to execute on power systems projects.

• Reviews one-line drawings for bid specs and negotiated jobs to verify scope of work being proposed.

• Reviews and authorizes buyers’ orders prior to the signature phase of the transaction.

• Maintain relationships with key engineers, owners, industry leaders and peers within the CAT network.

• Participate in Caterpillar Energy and Transportation events (virtual and in person), including participating in Sullair’s continuing education program.

• Assures strategic balance of new, used, and rental inventory to support the needs and goals of Butler Machineries power system division.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of business experience, training and/or education required.

• 3-5 years of experience within Electrical Sales/Design and Leadership.

• Previous experience in the various phases of diesel engine and generator set sales and service operations preferred.

• Broad mechanical background with a good knowledge of power generation

• Ability to clearly communicate with direct reports the goals and objectives of the division and BMC.

• Ability to understand blueprints and electrical one-line drawings.

• Must meet company insurability standards for driving purposes.
