Patient Assessment:Perform comprehensive health assessments, | | including physical examinations, medical histories, and | | psychosocial assessments. Analyze assessment data to identify | | patient needs, establish nursing diagnoses, and develop | | individualized careplans. | | | | 2. Care Planning:Develop and implement evidence-based care plans | | in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary | | healthcare teammembers. Set goals, prioritize interventions, and | | evaluate patient progress to promote positive health outcomes. | | | | 3. Medication Administration:Administer medications and | | treatments prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate | | dosage calculations, proper administration techniques, and | | patient education on medication use and potential side effects. | | | | 4. Clinical Procedures:Perform nursing procedures and | | interventions, such as wound care, catheterization, IV therapy, | | and tracheostomy care, following established protocols and | | infection control practices. Monitor patients for adverse | | reactions or complications and intervene promptly as needed. | | | | 5. Patient Education:Provide patient education on disease | | prevention, health promotion, medication management, and | | self-care techniques. Empower patients and their families to make | | informed decisions about their healthcare and promote healthy | | lifestyle behaviors. | | | | 6. Collaboration:Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice | | providers, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare | | professionals to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and | | advocate for patients' needs. Participate in interdisciplinary | | rounds, care conferences, and case management meetings. | | | | 7. Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient | | records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress | | notes, and medication administration records. Document all | | interventions, observations, and patient responses in accordance | | with regulatory requirements and facility policies. | | | | 8. Patient Advocacy:Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, | | and values, ensuring they receive respectful, compassionate, and | | culturally sensitive care. Address concerns or conflicts related | | to patient care and ollaborate with healthcare team members to | | resolve issues and improve patient satisfaction. | | | | 9. Quality Improvement:Participate in quality improvement | | initiatives, performance improvement projects, and evidence-based | | practice initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes, streamline | | processes, and promote best practices in nursing care. | | | | Qualifications: | | | | 1. Licensure:Must have a current and valid license as a | | Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state board of nursing. | | Licensure requirements may varyby state. | | | | 2. Education:Completion of an accredited nursing program leading | | to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in | | Nursing (BSN). BSN-prepared nurses may have increased | | opportunities for advancement and specialization. | | | | 3. Clinical Skills:Proficiency in nursing skills and procedures, | | including patient assessment, medication administration, clinical | | interventions, and therapeutic communication. Knowledge of | | nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice principles. | | | | 4. Critical Thinking:Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, | | and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex | | situations, prioritize care needs, and adapt to changing patient | | conditions. | | | | 5. Communication Skills:Excellent communication and | | interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate | | with patients, families, healthcare team members, and other | | stakeholders. Ability to document patient information accurately | | and concisely. | | | | 6.
