DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this role, you will be responsible for organizing and executing environmental interpretive programs, summer youth activities, outdoor recreation programs, information services, and public relations initiatives at Jennings Environmental Education Center. You will work under the guidance of the Program Coordinator/Environmental Education Specialist Supervisor, ensuring that all activities align with the State Parks' mission of promoting outdoor recreation and serving as educational platforms for environmental awareness.

Your duties will involve engaging with the public to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the natural environment. By facilitating these programs, you will contribute to creating a welcoming and educational atmosphere that encourages visitors to explore and learn from the outdoor surroundings at Jennings Environmental Education Center.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Seasonal full-time employment. There are no healthcare benefits available and no option to buy in to health care benefits through the employer. Work hours vary: 37.5 hours/week - 7 day a week operation. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts as required. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Educational development to the high school level or equivalent level supplemented by at least two college level courses in botany, ornithology, ecology, wildlife, mammalogy, entomology or related courses;  or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
