SAFE in Lenoir County Bilingual Domestic Violence Outreach Coordinator in Snow Hill, North Carolina

The primary responsibility of the DV Outreach Coordinator/Advocate is to provide Greene County with on-site service to domestic violence survivors. These services include but are not limited to shelter, victim advocacy, court advocacy, community outreach initiatives, professional trainings, community engagement and presentations, victim transportation, support/empowerment group services, volunteer recruitment and any other services directly related to victims of domestic violence. This position reports directly to the Operations Director and to the Executive or Director Board President.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Case manage all domestic violence cases in Greene County
  • Make appropriate referrals and coordinate services for all domestic violence cases
  • Assist survivors with domestic violence protective orders (50B) and 50-C when needed
  • Provide advocacy for survivors to include referrals to community organizations, safety planning, goal-setting, etc.
  • Provide information to survivors, their loved ones, and the community at-large to educate and empower survivors to live violence free
  • Act as a court advocate for all domestic violence survivors
  • Keep accurate, confidential notes and statistics on all victims served in Greene County
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date statistical data into system database and assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and semi-annual statistical reports in a timely fashion, as dictated by funders and management
  • Work with DSS on Work First and all other issues relating to victim services
  • Provide assistance to all clients by preparing an advocate-recommended safety, treatment and referral resource plan
  • Plan, promote, and provide community education initiatives and in-service training to professionals in the Greene County area
  • Attend public functions and participate in community activities, committees, initiatives in an effort to provide visibility within Greene County and to promote SAFE's services, provide information, and education which may fall outside of normal office hours
  • Provide support and assistance (as needed) to Lenoir County and shelter clients to include all duties above and other responsibilities as they arise to meet the often urgent needs of survivors
  • Seek out, register, and attend workshops that are relative to the services we provide to clients that will meet/exceed the yearly mandatory requirements by our funders (paid training)
  • Provide transportation for clients when necessary
  • Develop and facilitate Greene County-based support group(s) for survivors
  • Recruitment of volunteers in your service area is expected
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with essential professionals in Greene County
  • Responsible for at least one on call weekend per month and rotate holidays with other staff even when it is not on your usual rotation of weekends
  • Maintain consistent office hours in Greene County. Must be on-site in Snow Hill Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Advocate is based out of Lenoir County on Tuesday/Thursday but will need to travel to Greene County if a client need arises.
  • Maintain and uphold all organization policies and practices as well as funding guidelines at all times
  • Assist in the planning, development, and execution of outreach and fundraising events and develop with the board volunteer committee an annual fundraiser for Greene County
  • Perform any and all other duties in accordance with providing agency support and services to survivors and management of SAFE in Lenoir County, Inc. as outlined in our policy and procedure and funding guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
