Human Resources / Operations Generalist

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt – Contingent upon award

Work Location: St. Joseph County, IN

Shift: 40 Hours, M-F

Patriot Group International Inc. (PGI) has a current full-time, exempt employee opening for a Human Resources / Operations Generalist located in our St. Joseph County office and surrounding customer sites. This position reports to the Cluster Security Account Manager (CSAM).

The Human Resources / Operations Generalist will be primarily responsible for all human resources functions as well as assisting in the coordination of security operations management, including but not limited to on-boarding new staff, training coordination, logistics, procurement, and other miscellaneous tasks.

The Human Resources / Operations Generalist will be responsible for the following:

  • Works with the Director of Human Resources (DHR) to maintain required local, federal, and departmental records, postings, and reporting such as I-9/E-Verify

  • Assists with onboarding and annual training of all employees.

  • Maintains and updates documents to include employee communications, training, and other employee information on company server and HR files.

  • Assists DHR with insurance benefit communication and assistance.

  • Assists HR team with verifications of employment, background investigations.

  • Assists with the pre-hire and on-boarding process to include; extending offers, conducting background, drug checks, professional reference checks, and Assists DHR with insurance benefit communication and assistance.

  • Other duties as assigned by the CSAM.

  • Assist in the development of operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the company mission, specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.

  • Execute and deliver various reports as assigned by the CSAM

  • Ensures timely processing of all staff payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles.

  • Assist operations team with equipment and logistics activities.

  • Assists staff with timesheet entry, login, and password resets.

  • Perform office management tasks such as ordering of office supplies, scheduling of maintenance personnel, greeting guests, answering phone calls, and ensuring the office is neat.

  • Will be responsible for sending and collecting packets to new hires and ensuring information is received and complete.

  • Ensure files are maintained and updated.

  • Collecting certifications from employees and communicating information to Program Managers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in an HR generalist position.

  • Experience working in a high-tempo operations environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Must have a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

  • High level of confidentiality, discretion, and ability to protect PGI proprietary and personnel information.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to read, write, understand the English language, apply written rules, instructions, and other materials.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant HR and operational experience that includes personnel scheduling, recruiting, screening, and onboarding of personnel.

  • A minimum of 21 years of age.

  • Must have reliable transportation during all seasons.

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening as well as a background check.

  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

  • Excels at operating in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Smartsheet.
