Position: Pricing Analyst
Job Description:
Forward Air is looking for a Pricing Analyst. The Pricing Analyst will be a key contributor to the success of our organization supporting corporate executives, field leadership and partnering with all departments in the client support center. The Pricing Analyst will work closely with operations and senior leadership to perform detailed analysis and provide strategic data-driven guidance. This position will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing pricing strategies based upon in-depth historic data analysis, along with recurring review of previous projects to ensure continued accuracy. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on products, services, performance and competitive insights that lead to revenue and operational optimization.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and effectively communicate recommendations to improve business processes and results
Work with senior leadership to develop, implement and effectively analyze, price, and respond to customer bid inquiries.
Develop and optimize bidding processes geared towards specific recurring customer-driven requests.
Extract data for analysis and predictive modeling from both internal and external provided sources, partnering with other departments to comprehend the base assumptions of the underlying data.
Explore and analyze customer provided data, giving actionable insights and identify business opportunities.
Support internal and external clients by preparing regular reports, including analysis, database querying, input on reporting metrics and presentations
Responsible for assisting in the development of appropriate management-facing dashboards, and preparing reports for individual market-based financial performance reviews
Prepare summaries of pricing for internal discussions and negotiations.
Ability to effectively communicate the data-driven thought process and justification behind completed projects to internal teams and senior management
Querying databases and Excel driven data-sets
Developing reports and output for contract bidding
Creating industry benchmark reports
Analyzing large sets of data to determine cost drivers
Assisting team members with special projects and program evaluation
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience
2-4 years work experience in a related field or industry, such as 3PL, LTL, or the broader transportation industry
Oral and written communication skills
Analytical skills
Problem solving skills
Accounting or Finance experience
Skills:
Ability to be an independent contributor and take ownership of projects as assigned
Strength in project management and ability to meet strict deadlines
Possessing an understanding of transportation and logistics operations and payment structure
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting and supporting data driven analysis
Strong analytic and research skills
