iParametrics LLC Project Engineer in South Bend, Indiana

JOB TITLE: PROJECT ENGINEER

LOCATION: SOUTH BEND, INDIANA

JOB DESCRIPTION

iParametrics is collaborating with a leading infrastructure firm on a significant data center construction and commissioning project in South Bend, IN. We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of this high-profile project. This position offers an opportunity to work on a significant data center project with the potential for long-term assignments given the extensive workload in the area. The ideal candidate is someone who excels in roles with significant visibility and impact. This role offers significant upward mobility and career growth opportunities, working closely with the Data Center Owner's Lead Construction Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate directly with the client's lead construction manager to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Work on behalf of the lead construction manager to drive project success and ensure alignment with client goals.

  • Manage RFI submittals, change orders, REA management, bid packages, and subcontractor management.

  • Track deliveries, schedule meetings, and prioritize tasks effectively to maintain project timelines.

  • Utilize Procore and Excel for project tracking and reporting.

  • Track rOSD between suppliers, PAC, and GC, including push-out ticket status and shared Smartsheet management.

  • Monitor submittals and 3D model status, ensuring quality control.

  • Manage and follow up on critical RFIs and submittals.

  • Compare submittal logs with 3-4 week lookaheads to ensure alignment.

  • Track consultant SLA performance and manage cross-GC/building RFIs.

  • Follow up on CCD/DEREL releases and ensure proper file transmittal.

  • Track actuals and conduct schedule site walks, highlighting weekly changes.

  • Monitor and track risks and delays, providing timely updates.

  • Conduct HES observations and site walks, ensuring contractor actions lead to closure.

  • Review site testing deviation logs and highlight key findings.

  • Audit LLE commissioning check sheets across L2-L5, RIF, and FOD.

  • Manage CrewSight access for AWS teams and visitors, ensuring site security.

  • Coordinate Procore directory requests between GC, subcontractors, and Construction Coordinators.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of project engineering experience, preferably in data center construction/commissioning.

  • Strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering.

  • Experience working with general contractors and managing subcontractors.

  • Proficiency in Procore and Excel.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management

  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing, pharmaceutical, hospital, or semi-product construction environments is a plus.

  • Ability to excel in a high-profile position with significant visibility and impact.

  • Experience with large-scale projects ($100MM+) is highly desirable.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering with proficiency in Procore and Excel for project tracking and reporting.

  • Proven ability to manage complex construction projects from initiation to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members.

  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues that may impact project timelines, quality, or safety.

  • Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills, capable of mentoring and guiding team members to achieve project goals.

  • Keen attention to detail to ensure high standards of quality control and adherence to safety regulations.

     

    WORK SCHEDULE

    40 hours per week (5 x 8). Overtime not expected.

    This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.

     

    BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

    As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan.  Compensation for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 annually based on experience, background, and skills.
