West Virginia Employer Health Environment Safety Officer & Facility Manager in South Charleston, West Virginia

HES (Health Environment Safety) Officer & Facilities Manager is responsible to the successful initiation, planning and execution of various initiatives with regard to safety, environment and health so the facility is in compliance with industry standards. The role of a HES Officer encompasses many activities including planning and defining safety standards, compliance with environmental regulations and being a catalyst serving the health of personnel. The position also oversees the facilities for maintenance and upkeep and daily operating supplies. This person will collaborate with multiple departments and deliver consistent and effective communication. This position requires high level critical thinking, conceptualization, implementation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.

Responsible for safety program management and be the point of contact for safety matters. Provide training on health and safety, accident prevention and investigation. Be a point of contact for all Workers Compensation Claims with entire workforce. Responsible for any/all Workers Compensation Claims audits for company. Manage the company's safety plan for all facilities using appropriate tools and techniques. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance and identify hazards. Report and communicate to management as needed. Perform risk management duties to minimize health and safety risks. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors/government agencies. Develop and update emergency response plans. Investigate Accidents and illnesses and develop measures to prevent them from happening. Purchase safety equipment for personnel. Maintain safety records, including all accident reports, activity hazard report and safety tracking reports. Prepare and submit accident and yearly report to regulatory agencies as necessary. Prepare and submit any/all environmental reports to regulatory agencies as necessary. Conduct in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness. Manage any safety incentive programs that company would have. Recommend and enforce disciplinary actions against safety policy violators. Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Manage pollution control and conservation programs. Prepare any environmental compliance report for regulatory agencies when applicable. Train personnel on environmental awareness. Engage with stakeholders to build partnerships that support the green agenda. Stay up-to-date on environmental and safety regulations/laws that pertain to industry. Manage safety/environmental standards for multiple locations. Is the first point of contact for any visitors/vendors coming into facility. Ensures that items are ordered and stocked for the manufacturing facility and office space. Ensures that facility is set up for any special events. Oversees maintenance and general upkeep for the facility and ensures that appropriate agencies are contacted in the event items in facility need repaired. Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Seeking an organized, diligent individual who will contribute to the efficiency of the company's growing team.

One or more years of safety experience in the automotive industry or similar industry preferred. Bachelor Degree in Safety or related field preferred. Excellent verbal communication and written skills. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organization skills. Highly organized, strongly self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task with shifting priorities. Ability to learn company specific system regarding safety. Computer skills using MS Office Suite, GSuite. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills are required. Ability to travel as necessary. Physical Requirements:

Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs.

Working Environment:

Work is normally performed in an interior/ ffice work environment. Other environments may include: warehouse, vehicles and outdoors.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position will be in the range of $52,000 to $55,000 salary exempt. Salary Description:
