About being our Crew Chief

As our Survey Crew Chief, you will perform fieldwork of varying technical complexity, including boundary, topographic, right-of-way, construction staking, and design surveys. You will represent the Licensed Surveyor in their absence and will be responsible for setting and maintaining control points or monuments for horizontal and vertical accuracy, implementing traffic control and field safety plans, and advising on technical issues.

Responsibility Highlights for our Crew Chief

• Oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew
• Perform fieldwork for boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and design surveys
• Prepare construction staking layout, and field staking with fieldbook notes
• Utilize CAD programs to prepare surveys and reports
• Interact professionally with client representative and land owners
• Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerances
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork

• Other duties as assigned

   

Minimum Qualifications to be our Crew Chief

• High School Diploma
• 2+ years experience in surveying and/or staking

• Advanced understanding of field survey practices and equipment

• A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $25 - $35/hour depending on experience. Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates
