The Department of Human Services, South Mountain Restoration Center, is seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic to join our team of dedicated maintenance professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will monitor temperatures and maintain all ice machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, milk coolers, and walk-in boxes that store residents' food. Your duties will include maintaining all circulating pumps associated with refrigeration equipment, installing new refrigeration and HVAC systems, and performing both minor and major repairs on heating systems. Additionally, you will maintain central air conditioning units throughout the facility and operate refrigerant recovery and recycling equipment following manufacturer specifications. You will also handle the recovery and recycling of refrigerants while servicing and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime may be required as needed. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment. Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license. All employees must obtain an EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within six months of employment.
