Accounts Payable Specialist

As part of a strong team within the corporate office of a multi-facility organization, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor payables. Reports to our Accounting and Reimbursement Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

The following list of duties includes primary responsibilities, but is not all-inclusive:

  • Review and approve invoices using our paperless AP software

  • Ensure accurate coding and management approvals

  • Process cash disbursements weekly

  • Maintain proper documentation for financial reporting, audit and tax purposes

  • Reconcile vendor statements as needed

  • New vendor set up - ensure that all information is correct and ensure that companies designated to receive 1099’s are identified.

  • Respond to vendor, management and facility inquires

  • Run various reports and/or account histories on vendors as needed.

  • Protect company data by practicing discretion and keeping information confidential

  • Maintain relationships with vendors and facility staff

  • Other projects involving accounts payable as time permits

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • High level of organization

  • Ability to adjust to changing levels of workload

  • Ability to analyze information and problem solve based on presented data

  • Detail-orientated

  • Ability to work individually and as a team

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically excel

  • HS Diploma / GED required

  • Prior accounts payable experience preferred
