Job Summary

The Manager, DC Inventory Control provides regional guidance, training, and direction for inventory control, inventory process management, inventory audits, cycle counts, and reporting metrics. The role will be responsible for leading the teams across the distribution network in multiple sites managing overall of inventory for all the distribution center locations.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to increase in-house and in-field inventory accuracy and control by partnering with DC Operations, Commercial & Customer Care personnel

  • Supervises and trains Inventory Control and Receiving personnel and responsible for development and the full associate life cycle for all staff within the team

  • Identifies and brings resolution to issues impacting both Inbounds & Outbounds Operations

  • Coordinates and manages NA DC’s daily physical cycle counts program, as needed to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Conducts regular inventory analysis to solve inventory related issues

  • Review & monitor SAP SLOC Management Aging & reconciliation processes across DC Network

  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports demand and documents inventory characteristics

  • Collaborates with others to ensure business goals are achieved

  • Ensure end to end processes of exception materials processes such as RGA, Quality Holds, and other processes

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and aging discrepant material storage locations are reconciled each quarter end

  • Performs research and analysis to assist with resolution of inventory variances

  • Responsible for all Inventory related Key Performance Indicators

  • Record and report Monthly & Quarterly Inventory Aging Reports by BU’s

  • Provide DC Inventory Turns Actuals per Quarter

  • Responsible for SOX Compliance related activities

  • Responsible for KPMG Inventory Management Audits

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills are required.

  • Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate the ability to coach and develop others, foster teamwork, and influence others and be an agent of change in the organization.

  • Capable of inspiring the team to achieve breakthrough results.

  • Can handle conflict and pressure situations in a way that gets parties to “yes.”

  • High energy level

  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and implement change and be able to work collaboratively to drive improvements and results.

  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies is highly desirable.

  • Takes prudent risks. Can make optimal decisions rapidly, in many cases with incomplete information.

  • Prior experience creating and managing budgets with a focus on cost effectiveness is required.

  • Previous knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, GMP’s and ISO 13485 is preferred.

  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office products or equivalent software application.

  • SAP and MES experience is preferred.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or combination of education and related experience is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics and distribution operations and inventory management is required, preferably in a pharmaceutical or medical device facility.
