Tenneco Inc Category Manager in Southfield, Michigan

Category Manager Reporting to the Director, Category Management, the Category Manager is responsible for comprehensive analytics support for assigned products. The role will enable optimized availability by leveraging our best-in-class sales tracking, assortment planning and inventory optimization tools. This critical, highly-visible role will also act as SME in market dynamics for assigned product lines. The Category Manager will collaborate with adjacent DRiV teams to add value for customers via related business disciplines, including market intelligence, strategic pricing, category management and supply chain. Responsibilities: Manage customer inventory assortments in assigned categories Review store-level stocking data Recommend adjustments to optimize local coverage Leverage syndicated research, primary research and available transactional data to develop knowledge of assigned categories Work in partnership with brand marketing to inform strategies and measure ROI of related activities Develop data-focused relationships with assigned customers, utilizing available resources to provide category and business insights Analyze data across assigned categories to identify emerging trends and opportunities for DRiV and our customers Lead development of content for category reviews and sales presentations Present category overviews and insights to customers, business partners, internal teams and DRiV leadership Complete detailed competitive and category landscape analysis Act as category subject matter expert for all customer data requests

Key competencies: Strong analytical skills required Excellent communication and presentation skills Education - Bachelor's Degree minimum Minimum 2 years of experience in Category Management or related field Proficient in Excel, with experience in BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Azure and Power BI a plus Experience working with retail organizations strongly preferred Automotive background a plus CMA certification favorable An Equal Opportunity Employer.
