Wall Street Productions, Ltd. Film & Video Prep Operator 12 Week Contract in Southfield, Michigan

Job Description

Become trained on standard procedures to prepare film, video, and audio materials for digitization. Input text and numerical data (such as media descriptions, specifications, dates, or asset numbers) into a computer or other business machine. Resolve routine questions and refer complex issues to higher levels.

Responsibilities

  1. Receive training on proper handling, care, and preparation of motion picture film, video media, and related equipment.
  2. Become trained in using equipment to exercise and clean media, splice and repair motion picture film, prepare for digitization, properly label and organize large quantities of media assets as instructed, and perform other basic studio support tasks.
  3. Use basic computer skills to key media descriptions, specifications, dates, asset numbers, or other data.
  4. Meet daily goals as your work product directly feeds our post-production teams.
  5. Use shared workflow documents allowing all team members to view the status of client projects within our facilities. Update your progress throughout the day to allow subsequent workers to know when to expect your work product.
  6. Be kind and supportive to fellow employees whose job may involve delivering your media materials, retrieving your work product, or following up on job status.
  7. Must be capable of producing error-free work or identifying what errors exist in your work product, prior to its delivery to our end client.
  8. Remain open to process improvement, as all your work comes from co-workers and feeds other co-workers.
  9. Following an initial orientation period, work toward achieving daily and weekly throughput goals to meet customer expectations.
  10. Accept coaching and direction from supervisors to improve performance.
  11. Work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instruction to accomplish assigned tasks without errors.
  12. Collaborate in a supportive, Team environment emphasizing learning new skills and receiving constructive input from supervisors.
  13. Recognize your role as part of a larger workflow supplying other Team members with work product that ultimately creates finished, error-free client deliverables.

Education and Experience Requirements

We are willing to train interested candidates in proper care and handling of exposed film, open-reel and cassette-based audio and video formats, and the use of basic studio production, post-production, transcription, and printing equipment.

High school diploma/GED required and one (1) to three (3) years of office or technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with MS Office applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus.

Experience with Spreadsheets, Google Docs and Google Sheets is a plus.

Must be willing to have your performance monitored daily for throughput and accuracy.

Must be willing to accept constructive input to improve your performance and accuracy as needed.

Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of minutes and seconds is required.

NOTE: A pre-employment Basic Math Test will be administered.

Compensation

You will be paid the total sum of $5,000 for this twelve (12) week, 40-hour-per-week, seasonal, contract position, paid in bi-weekly increments.
