MECHANICAL ENGINEER I SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN

POSITION FOCUS: This is technical role for mechanical design, development low & high voltage electronic products for vehicles. You will be involved in all phases of an electronic product development, from the concept definition, until release for production going through prototype, design and verification phases.

You will be part of a highly skilled cross-functional and cross-regional development team at the cutting edge of vehicle technology.

The Mechanical Engineer is the responsible to integrate the mechanical design following the specs released by the Customer.

KEY ACTIVITIES: The main responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer I role are the followings:

Analyze and understand related mechanical specifications (product specs, packaging spec's. ...). Find the best technical solution (Design to Cost) to meet specifications. Deliver and monitor an accurate and robust design using standard industry simulation tools. Follow Design Guides Lines, Best Practices & LL Design for manufacturing (DFM) with suppliers DFMEA (IQ-APIS) Know and understand the information in the 2D Drawings Able to use CAD (solid works / Catia/Nx) Know and understand Stack-up analysis. Support and solve Issues with the Assy Plant during all phases of the development Design for manufacturing (DFM) with Assembly. Plant Follow Global MECH processes and procedures Homologate the product & supply validation of product documents: DRs, dimensional reports & validation reports, to pass PPAP and PSW _ (internal & external). To fulfil the Requirements management tools used in the organization. (i.e. DOORS, Req. Tool). To fulfil the change management tools used in the organization. (i.e. SEM, CMTS). To fulfil the problem resolution tools used in the organization (i.e. 8D, Fishbond).

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: University degree related with Mechanical and / or Electrical.

EXPERIENCE: Co-op or internship experience

Additional skills needed are: Knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Office Package). Communication skills Problem solving Knowledge on Electronics products
