Robert Half Purchasing Manager in Southlake, Texas

Description We are seeking a skilled Purchaser to join our team based in Southlake, Texas. The role involves managing purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, and maintaining vendor relationships. This role is also responsible for managing purchasing activities across multiple locations and ensuring efficient inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing contracts and negotiating terms with vendors to secure the best prices and terms for the company.

• Manually placing orders and ensuring timely and accurate order processing.

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to contract terms.

• Managing purchasing activities for multiple company locations, ensuring consistency and efficiency in order placement and delivery.

• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.

• Analyzing and controlling purchasing costs, seeking opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

• Using various software platforms and vendor online systems to place orders and manage purchasing activities.

• Utilizing Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting to support purchasing decisions.

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all purchasing activities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with various software and online platforms. Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Purchasing role or a similar position

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Strong understanding of buying processes and component selection

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with vendors

• Experience with NetSuite or similar purchasing software

• Knowledge and understanding of Excel formulas

• Demonstrated ability to create, generate, enter, process, and prepare purchases

• Experience with purchase agreements and purchase orders

• Familiarity with purchasing policies and procurement processes

• Must comply with all company and industry regulations and guidelines

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong organization and multitasking abilities

• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
