Position Summary

The position sets up, operates and maintains Laser, Plasma Cutter, Trax Plate Application Machine, and other specialized forming equipment, selecting programs from the controller menu, making program edits, and occasionally programming new parts in accordance with defined specifications and manufacturing standards.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.

  • Reads production drawings and manufactures products in accordance with engineering specifications. Calls correct programs and operates CNC equipment as required to produce parts that conform to specifications and production schedule. Communicates any deviations with supervisor.

  • Monitors the machine operation and takes necessary steps to allow the machine to function properly in good working order, including troubleshooting any machine issues with supervisor and/or maintenance assisting in the diagnosis and corrective action as needed.

  • Uses cranes, forklifts and other lifting equipment, when certified, in support of manufacturing.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a forklift driving certification and have experience operating heavy machinery. Other desired qualifications include:

  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings.

  • Proven experience as CNC operator.

  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
