Location: Sparta, NJ

Shift: 1st - 8:00am-5:00pm - Monday-Friday

pay: $23.50/hr

Job Description: As a part of the Warehouse team, the Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments.

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

• Affixes box labels and shipping labels on packed cartons.

• Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.

• Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.

• Binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine, where necessary.

• Labels identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

• Utilizes UPS World Ship computer program for UPS packages, arranges other methods of shipment via approved Common Carriers or customer selected method of shipment.

• Places stock parts on assigned shelving racks, containers, or bins.

• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and inspects for all necessary documents (includes packing slip, certifications, etc.).

• Notifies the appropriate personnel regarding damages and/or shortages.

• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

This is a fully on-site position in Sparta, New Jersey. Warehouse setting.
