Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES CIPD - INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST -BEHAVIOR, F-T position,10 months/yr. in Spencerport, New York

The Instructional Support Specialist for Special Education will provide targeted instructional support and coaching to local school districts in the area of special education and behavior.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Organize and implement high-quality professional development offerings in behavior analysis and function-based thinking as requested by component districts and others.

  • Consult and Coach teachers and support staff in classroom supports, MTSS and behavior best practices.

  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and supporting improved results for all students.

  • Assist with the preparation and planning of behavior plans and supports, using skills such as data analysis, research, and resource management.

  • Continuously refine practices through the study of best practices in professional development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, behavior, and education as a whole.

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Permanent/Professional New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education 1-6, K-12, behavioral analysis or related field.

Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with students with disabilities or behavior analysis/function-based thinking.
