Teach one of the following summer school courses:

• Grade 6: Reading/Writing Clinic

• Grade 7: Reading/Writing Clinic

• Grade 8: Reading/Writing Clinic

Program Dates:

• July 10, Staff only, seven (7) hours

• July 14 - August 5, four and a half (4.5) hours per day (no school 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1)

• August 6, five (5) hours, administering & grading of final assessments

• Must be able to work all dates

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Plan and teach lessons daily.

• Teach to NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.

• Administer reading assessments such as DRA and QRI.

• Assess student performance and complete progress report.

• Bring own non-consumable materials such as books from home school, stapler, ruler, non-consumable desk supplies. BOCES 2 will provide consumable paper, and dry erase supplies.

• Classroom management, including home contact.

• Prepare program evaluation report for districts at conclusion of program.

• Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Regional Summer School site principal.

Job Qualifications

Experience: Previous middle school teaching experience preferred.

Educational: Appropriate NYS Teacher Certification required.
