Job Summary
Apply mechanical design knowledge to the design development and production of Wagstaff casting equipment.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Become familiar with Wagstaff equipment, associated design criteria, design tools, and business software with respect to a limited number of products/areas of standard complexity. Apply this knowledge to the design of equipment as assigned
- Create design documents necessary for equipment production according to documented design procedures and as directed by the responsible Engineer(s)
- Update and revise mechanical drawings per instructions from design reviews, redlines, NPR tags, etc.
- Prepare and release design documents to Manufacturing
- Become proficient at estimating hours to complete design tasks
- Become proficient at meeting goals with respect to planned hours and production schedule
- Become proficient at interfacing with Purchasing, Demand Management, and shop floor personnel as required to effectively design and support the manufacturer of equipment as required
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Abide by company policies
- In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
- Train other team members in support of basic departmental processes and equipment design methods
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- AA or AS Degree in Engineering Technological field or equivalent experience
- Experience with SolidWorks highly preferred

- Coordinates with other designers and members of other departments as necessary
