Classification: Non-Exempt, Temp-to-Hire
Location: Springfield Gardens, NY (onsite)
Working Hours: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm (Can be adjusted to 7:00 am - 4:00 pm)

OVERVIEW:
A global freight forwarding/ logistics company is looking for a Billing Agent to join their dynamic ocean import operation team.
You will work closely with various departments to gather and verify billing information, generate invoices, provide invoices to clients, maintain documentation and recordkeeping, and communicate with clients to address any billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical and data entry skills to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
* Issue invoices daily using the company's operating system, referencing customer-specific rate tables.
* Ensure accurate and timely invoice generation for all services rendered, including ocean, air, and ground freight.
* Fulfill and adhere to specific customer instructions for invoice delivery, including:
* Uploading PDF invoices to designated online platforms.
* Sending invoices to the correct party via email.
* Following any other customer-specific requirements.
* Accurately identify and allocate vendor invoices to the corresponding shipment data for precise cost allocation per shipment.
* Create and maintain updated billing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each customer.
* Accurately enter and maintain customer data, invoice information, and other relevant billing data in the company's systems.
* Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices in a professional and timely manner.
* Identify and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues that may arise.
* Perform other duties assigned by Management.


QUALIFICATIONS:
* Basic experience of billing practices within freight forwarding operations or corporate settings is a plus.
* Strong math and data entry skills for accurate invoicing.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* Willingness to work additional hours as needed, especially during peak business volumes.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance. Minimum Salary: 21.50 Maximum Salary: 22.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
