Job Summary:Do you have a Master's Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health field of study? Are you passionate about providing crisis intervention and support for persons experiencing crisis? Join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health as a Co-Responder!

As a Co-Responder, you'll collaborate with the Springfield Police Department to ensure that identified individuals are provided with the opportunity to access recommended behavioral health treatment. Your main responsibilities will include crisis intervention, safety planning, service assessment and referral, resource navigation, and brief case management services to assist with continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Springfield Police Department to provide crisis intervention and support for persons experiencing crisis

  • Ensure identified individuals are provided with the opportunity to access recommended behavioral health treatment

  • Conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, service assessment and referral, resource navigation, and brief case management services to assist with continuity of care

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and officer directives regarding safety or scene security

  • Document and track interventions appropriately according to all agency standards and governing regulations

  • Assist law enforcement with Involuntary Detention procedures when appropriate

  • Provide or assist with training and consultation on behavioral health issues for Springfield Police Department

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related Behavioral Health field of study

  • Preferred crisis intervention experience

  • Ability to pass a background check as required by Springfield Police Department

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Passion for crisis intervention and supporting persons in crisis

  • Understanding of safety protocols and ability to adhere to officer directives

  • Attention to detail and ability to document and track interventions appropriately

  • Willingness to provide training and consultation on behavioral health issues
