Timber Products Company Account Manager I in Springfield, Oregon

POSITION SUMMARY

This position works closely with sales team to service established accounts and grow customer sales. Professionally represents the products and services that Timber Products Company provides. Focus will be in hardwood and softwood plywood as well as international sales. Assists the sales team with all phases of the sales and marketing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds and enhances long term relationships with existing strategic customers by determining their needs and delivering on expectations.

  • Executes the established sales plan using personal sales skills and product knowledge.

  • Builds new business by prospecting accounts within the guidelines set by Plant and International Sales Managers.

  • Sells 180-day list products and floor stock items from Company plants, including shop and other downfall items. Works with the plants on order flow planning and customer scheduling.

  • Assists in growing sales out of reloads.

  • Provides customer service including servicing product claims and shipment information.

  • Provides feedback to Sales Managers and team members on market conditions and product availability.

  • Enters orders efficiently and accurately into company ERP system.

  • Analyzes and processes legitimate product claims and shipping errors as necessary.

  • Provides phone coverage for incoming calls from current and prospective customers with other sales team members.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

This job typically requires 1-3 years sales experience in a related field; preferably in a wood products industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Must be proficient in the use of computers and a variety of software programs.

Excellent communication and listening skills are required in order to work effectively with all levels of sales staff and customers. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members.
