Who You Are
Under direct supervision, assigned daily work. May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean up activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
This is a contingent position based upon contract award.
What You’ll Do
As Boiler Operator, you will:
Follow Supervision and Instructions: Work under direct supervision, follow daily assignments, and understand instructions and documentation to effectively plan work activities.
Coordinate Material and Equipment Movement: Help coordinate the transportation of materials and equipment to work locations, ensuring all necessary resources are available for the work site setup.
Setup Work Sites: Assist in setting up work sites in preparation for operations, arranging all required tools, materials, and equipment efficiently.
Maintain Tools and Equipment: Regularly inspect, maintain, and manage tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and available for use as needed.
Complete Records: Accurately complete and review records associated with boiler operations and maintenance to ensure all data is up-to-date and correct.
Perform Cleanup Activities: Engage in various cleanup activities, ensuring the work area is clean and safe after operations.
Heavy Lifting: Participate in tasks that may require moderate to heavy lifting, following proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries.
Observe Safety Protocols: Strictly observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal safety equipment to minimize risk during operations.
Report Issues: Promptly report any operational issues or safety concerns to the supervisor to ensure immediate action and resolution.
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about best practices, new technologies, and safety protocols in boiler operations to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Boiler Operator experience managing similar USG projects of size, scope and complexity, preferably with NRO experience to adequately understand mission needs across the project.
High School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.
Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.
Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Boiler Operator experience managing similar USG projects of size, scope and complexity
Clearance: Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
