V2X Network and Field Services Manager - active Top Secret clearance in Springfield, Virginia

We are hiring for the opportunity for a Network & Field Service Manager - active Top Secret clearance to support our government customer based in Springfield, VA.

This position will require U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • What You'll Do

  • The Network and Field Services Manager leads the Networking and Field Services Operational Support (FSOS) teams that support the organization's Enterprise WAN

  • The Manager directs the day-to-day operational network/FSOS support tasks and strategically aligns team objectives with the CIO Directorate's vision.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Directing Tier II/III network and FSOS technical support and WAN issue resolution.

  • Managing ticket queues, prioritizing support requests, assigning tasks, and tracking completion statuses.

  • Managing multiple simultaneous internal projects in accordance with the Directorate's project management framework.

  • Developing inventory, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and decommission plans for WAN network devices in accordance with the organization's lifecycle asset management policies.

  • Developing travel schedules for new site requests/decommissions, tech refreshes, and emergency operations.

  • Drafting Requests for Change (RFC) and analyzing change requests submitted by IT counterparts.

  • Maintaining compliance with service level agreements between CIO stakeholders, sites, and vendors.

  • Establishing and tracking system metrics to continuously improve team performance, productivity, and knowledge.

  • Developing presentations, briefing CIO governance boards, and reporting statuses/updates to senior CIO leadership.

  • Incumbent travel requirements are approximately 10% annually to support critical business needs and customer engagements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements

  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University; OR certifications;

  • Desired Certifications

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH); or CompTIA Cloud+; or CompTIA Security+; or Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP); or Systems Security Certified (SSCP); or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); or Cisco Certified Network Professional Data Center (CCNP); or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+); or GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED); or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH); GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA); or GIAC Cloud Security Essentials (GCLD); or GIAC Defensible Security Architect (GDSA); or GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies(GFACT); or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).

  • Qualifications

  • Shall have 7 or more years of progressive and increasingly complex experience supporting an Enterprise WAN as a network administrator or engineer.

  • Shall possess an associate level network certification or higher (e.g., CCNA, Network+, JNCIA).

  • Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency and expertise in the following areas:

  • Leading teams and projects, prioritizing and assigning tasks, tracking operational statuses, and optimizing processes across a geographically disbursed IT team.

  • Administering and troubleshooting secure Enterprise network systems, tools, and services including routing and switching devices/technologies.

  • Developing metrics and capitalizing on opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Operating and maintaining secure network solutions using Government-standard practices including Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences, as well as senior-level executives.

  • Developing technical documentation, such as standard operating procedures, topology charts, reports, presentations, and design documents

  • Desired Qualifications

  • Possesses an advanced level network certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, etc.).

  • Possesses a professional management certification (e.g., ITIL, Certified Scrum Master, Project+, PMP, etc.).

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Deploying and operating Cisco hardware, operating systems (IOS, NX-OS, ACI, etc.), and technologies (voice, video, routing, switching, security, etc.) across Enterprise-grade information systems and networks.

  • Administering and troubleshooting Cisco-based systems, tools, and services such as routing and switching technologies (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, LACP, HSRP, OSPF, PC, QoS, SP, VPC, VRF), secure encrypted networking devices (Taclanes and Border Guards), and network-based security technologies (NextGen firewalls, ACLs).

  • Implementing service improvement processes in repose to performance metrics or Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Understanding of ServiceNow's ITSM tools and asset management modules (e.g., CMDB, ITAM, HAM, SAM).

  • Familiarity with the project management framework, IT governance, agile methodology, software development lifecycle, DevOps, and/or ITSM.

  • Security Clearance Requirements

  • The position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
