SAIC Windows Engineer in SPRINGFIELD, Virginia

Description

This senior-level Windows engineering position provides IT support in configuring and maintain Windows baseline as well as integrating and operating Microsoft Intune for managing and maintaining department endpoints. The preferred candidate will be a senior IT engineer with extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, WSUS, Active Directory and maintaining Windows 10 and 11 workstations. The qualified candidate will manage, maintain, and patch endpoints using WSUS and Intune. Additionally, the preferred candidate should have some experience in providing tier-3 level support for endpoints.

The position will have a hybrid telework arrangement with on-site presence one day a week in Springfield, VA at a secure government facility. Work schedule will be Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Work location and schedule subject to change based on government requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configure, maintain, and patch Windows 10 and 11 endpoints.

  • Perform Tier 3 engineering support to Microsoft’s cloud-based Intune endpoint management system.

  • Support policy, app and device configuration and management for endpoints, including test, deployment, patching, and maintenance activities.

  • Respond to complex incidents escalated from Tier 2 including service outages and degradations. Interface with vendor and other enterprise support elements as required.

  • Provide system security support including threat prevention and reduction, response, and remediation.

  • General understanding of networking and varying protocols to communicate effectively with varying infrastructure teams to fast track solutions.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 9 years or more of related experience; Master's degree and 7 years of related experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.

  • Significant hands-on experience in configuring, implementing and troubleshooting Windows 10 and 11 workstations.

  • Significant hands-on Microsoft system administrator experience in configuring, maintaining, and patching Windows endpoints at scale using WSUS, Autopilot, PowerShell, and Intune.

  • Experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows client.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing Tier 3 analysis and troubleshooting for Windows endpoints.

Required Clearance:

  • US Citizenship.

  • Active Secret security clearance with Top Secret eligibility.

Desired Education/Skills:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate.

  • Prior work experience supporting U.S. government agencies.
