Our custodians are critical to the success of Wavetronix. This position is responsible for performing routine as well as specialized cleaning in the buildings on the Hobble Creek campus. This position reports directly to the Lead Custodian and is responsible for cleaning assigned areas in one or more buildings. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.

Tentative start date: February 17, 2025

Hours: 12:30pm-9pm MDT M-F

General purpose of the job:

Responsible for daily cleaning of assigned areas of multiple facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs daily routine cleaning of all assigned areas, including but not restricted to restrooms, sweeping, mopping, glass cleaning, trash removal, and dusting.

• Performs periodic special cleaning projects as needed, including, but not restricted to carpet extraction, upholstery cleaning.

• Prepares and resets rooms/areas for daily use.

• Operating vacuums, floor scrubbers, sprayers, and other equipment.

• Ability to be actively working for the majority of an 8-hour shift.

Basic Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. English proficiency. Bilingual preferred (English- Spanish)

Minimum Level Education Needed:

High school diploma or GED

Job Related Experience:

One to two years' experience preferred.

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities required to accomplish the essential duties of this job:

•​Experience with cleaning chemicals, chemical safety, and industrial cleaning equipment.

•​Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•​Should be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

•​Computer and technological skills: email, messaging as well as ability to learn new productivity & communications applications.

•​Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated.

•​Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly walking, standing

• Occasionally sitting

• Frequently using hands to feel, lift, finger

• Regularly reaching with hands and arms

• Regularly climbing or balancing

• Regularly stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling

• Occasionally talking or hearing

Lifting:

• Frequently lifting 10-25 lbs.• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Sight:

• Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Environment:

• Regular work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)

• Occasionally working near moving or mechanical parts

• Frequently working with fumes, airborne particles

• Occasionally working in outdoor conditions

• Moderate noise (example: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

Success Profile:

30 Days:

  • Learn about the company history, culture, and values through onboarding.

  • Be familiar with the basics of the company's most used software applications.

  • Gain understanding of Wavetronix facilities as well as cleaning assignments.

  • Go through training program with Facilities Director and Lead Custodian.

60 – 90 Days:

  • Feel comfortable in assigned area(s) and with assigned duties.

  • Have weekly meetings with the Lead Custodian.

  • Have a knowledge of the supplies and machines used in the Wavetronix Custodial circle.

  • Should be able to communicate with other employees in the building to handle quick requests or emergencies.

First year:

  • Successfully and regularly use software applications used at the company.

  • Completed all basic custodial training.

  • Actively participate in company learning and development programs.

  • Ability to run an area independently with little oversight and potentially take on other projects.

  • Be familiar with general company events and activities.
