Electrical Test Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing test fixturing and related equipment. Works closely with other engineers on product test platform definition and integration. Interacts regularly with multiple manufacturing departments, ensuring that testing is robust and efficient and compliments product flow. Has a strong knowledge of general electronics manufacturing principles and processes. Uses experience in LabVIEW/TestStand to develop new tests, improve old tests, and update older fixtures to new standards. Uses experience in PCB design to create test boards to interface between products and test hardware. This position is based in Springville, Utah. This position will NOT provide relocation assistance nor sponsorship for an immigration case.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 year of experience in Electrical Engineering field

  • Experience with National Instruments equipment

  • Computer programming languages (LabVIEW experience preferred)

  • Understand PCB design theory, schematic and layout

First 30 Days:

  • Participate in onboarding training provided by Wavetronix.

  • Get to know and begin building trust with each member of the test engineering support team.

  • Observe and participate in weekly Tactical and Project Management meetings.

  • Understand basic functionality of products and manufacturing process flow.

  • Learn basics behind current test processes.

  • Learn ClickUp task management software.

  • Participate as an active member on the EMT Engineering Team.

First 90 Days:

  • Complete XJTAG basic tutorial.

  • Assist with test project completion.

  • Assist with a test fixture improvement project.

  • Actively maintain tasks and schedule using ClickUp software tool.

  • Become familiar with all Production personnel.

First 6 Months:

  • Be confident in analyzing/troubleshooting production test fixture problems that arise.

  • Assist in test optimization and timing reduction projects.

  • Become familiar with design engineering team.

  • Handle redundant fixture duplication from start to finish.

  • Take lead on a new test fixture development project.

First Year and Beyond:

  • Improve electrical engineering skill sets through training opportunities.

  • Actively contribute to EMT team chemistry through peer interaction and positive team contribution.

  • Assess and expand team electrical engineering expertise through developing skills, learning new tools, and making recommendations on additional resources.
